How to stop re-keying quantities from drawings and schedules
Re-keying is where hours go and where quantities get typed twice. Structure the takeoff so a quantity is captured once.

Hours disappear between the drawing, the schedule and the spreadsheet. The same beam, pipe or area gets measured, typed, and sometimes typed again into the quote.
Capture once, in a structure
A takeoff sheet with a stable list of items beats a blank grid. Quantities land in named columns. The costing sheet reads them. Nobody retypes the number into the price.
Use documents you already receive
Schedules, bills of materials and specifications can be read into line items for an estimator to check. That is assistance, not a claim that the drawing has been measured by itself.
Construction, civil and landscaping teams feel this every time a schedule arrives as a PDF.
